A typical support contract

As an example, a business with a network of 15 computers connected to one server providing the email service for the whole business would pay around £2,500 per year.

This would include;

- 4 hour on site fault response for server systems
- 4 hour on site response for network infrastructure problems
- 8 hour on site response for individual PC or user problems
- remote access support
- telephone support
- monthly and quarterly on site routine maintenance

Over time, the routine maintenance activities reduce the number of faults and reduce the amount of wasted time and frustration.

For a smaller business with, say, four employees, a support contract can be as little as £300 per quarter.
